Develop a Sales Force to Help You Find Employment

by Sean on January 18, 2009

Unemployed and searching for employment? What are you doing to capitalize on your personal competitive advantages to find employment? First and foremost, you have to leverage your personal relationships. In order to find employment, who you know gets you in the door and it’s what you know that keeps you there.

With that in mind, who do you know? Obviously, those with large spheres of influence are the most attractive. However, even those with smaller spheres should be leveraged. Timing is everything and you want to leave no stone, or in this case, relationship unturned. Marketing yourself through people who know your character can create amazing opportunities for you to find employment.

Your sales force will help you limit the amount of time that you spend unemployed!  Additionally, it will give you people around you who can evaluate and comment on the jobs you are pursuing and the suitability of these jobs for you.  Often, we get so wrapped up in the fact that we are unemployed that we lose track of the fact that to find employment, we need to look in many places, and usually the best jobs are not where we first look.

I do not need to tell you that being unemployed affects your whole being.  Get up tomorrow, smile, and find a reason to laugh.  Then get out there and ask your sales force of personal relationships to help you find employment that is right for you.
